Le Concorde on President
Kennedy is a prestigious high-end building popular
amongst professionals and McGill students and professors. Although not equipped with a
sauna and an indoor pool, Le Concorde has a gym, and a
24/7 security and concierge service. This helps attracts
a different clientele looking for a quiet environment
without bing in a large anonymous building.
The residential units boast
large windows and excellent sound proofing for those who
enjoy the bustling city life outdoors and a quiet life
indoors. It is also in between two important access
points to the underground city and is just a few minutes
walk to the McGill University gates.
Just a couple of minutes
walk from the Place des Arts with its year round
festivals such as the Montreal Jazz festival and the
Just for Laughs festival. It is a convenient building for city living
with its indoor parking and easy access from the
not-so-busy President Kennedy Avenue.
Le Concorde
was designed in echelon with the second to the ninth
floor being designed as Loft style units. Condos on
these floors usually have 10 ft ceilings with exposed
concrete and were, originally at least, completely open
plan. However, with prices per square foot on the rise,
many owners have converted their lofts by covering the
ceilings and closing off the bedrooms with interesting
effects on the sales prices.
From the 10th floor
to the 16th floor, the units were designed as condos.
Those on the 10th floor have the benefit of large
private terraces, some of them 300 square feet or more.
These condos were designed with closed bedrooms with an
efficient use of space. Their designs haven't changed
since the building was finished.
The 17th, 18th
and 19th floors are the 'penthouse' levels. They are
fairly similar to the condos below but have 10ft
ceilings, and a fireplace. What's more, for greater
exclusivity, there are only four units per floor at this
level.
Le Concorde has aged very well for a
building of this type. It is well run and in good
condition with several overhauls over the past two or
three years which will benefit the building in the long
run.
